German Tourism Quality Monitor |
|
The “Qualitätsmonitor Deutschland-Tourismus” is an innovative instrument for quality management and for supporting the strategic marketing of tourist destinations in Germany’s tourism.
In the course of comprehensive face-to-face interviews, the guests in the participating destinations are asked for their motive for going on holiday, their activities, their information and spending behaviour as well as their satisfaction with all offered services. The surveyed data flows into an Internet-assisted data base which makes it possible for all participants to recognise their market position for the different customer and offer segments in competitor comparison and to identify individual courses of action for improving their own competitive position.
The "Qualitätsmonitor Deutschland-Tourismus" provides the individual destinations with specific information about the strengths and weaknesses of different offers and makes it possible for them to identify targeted measures for improving quality and to use marketing means in a more focussed and efficient way.
This system is a joint project of the ERV (Europäische Reiseversicherung), the German National Tourist Board, dwif and Manova. It is based on the T-MONA concept (tourism monitor Austria) developed in Austria which has been implemented in practice with lots of success there for some years and is financially subsidised by the Austrian Chamber of Commerce as well as Österreich Werbung, the Austrian National Tourist Office.
